This is a Firebox. I use it as sort of an artificial fireplace log on nights where it’s too warm for a fire.

The firebox is an offshoot of the cubism project. The parts are cut out with a 90 degree bit to give me mitered corners. The individual pieces are then carved with what I am now told is a “Vornoi pattern” (I just thought it was cool looking). The wood is Sapele and I added a rice paper backing for diffusion. The lights are flicker flame LED lights which are pretty simple to wire up.
